Alternative Wedding List

I’m crazy excited to finally realease my Alternative Wedding List. I’ve been thinking for a while now about how to make my clients’ weddings more affordable. Most people, when planning a wedding, need to magic money out of thin air. In speaking to the couples I photograph, it seemed that their weddings were all planned down to the final £ with every part of the budget used, and often more.

Another thing I found out from my clients is that very few of them needed a run-of-the-mill wedding list. With the averarge age of couples in London getting married between 32 and 34, most of them already live together or have even brought a house together and therefore have already accumulated all the goodies you’d get from a normal wedding list.

So I put my Alternative Wedding List together.

And to be honest it’s not so much a Alternative Wedding List as an alternative to a Wedding List. It’s real simple – instead of your guest buying you gifts that you don’t need from a gift list, they help you pay for parts of the wedding itself. For example, it’s common for people to ask for money towards a honeymoon. What about asking people to donate towards photography services, albums or prints? At Mark Colombus Photography we have created an account that your guests can contribute to, allowing you to see who has paid for what, just like a normal list. I hope people take advantage of this, it’s a great way to help you pay for some of your wedding.
