About Me

Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, for the first 20 years and now living in London
Having first picked up a camera at an early age and a few years later at the age of 10 purchasing a my first film camera, I have always strived to control the many variables that go to create great photographs.

When I am on a shoot I am always aware of what photographs I am going to get but there is also a sense/feeling that allows me to keep looking and re framing and trying to see the scene with new eyes, using the skills and experience that I have developed since having my first camera.

Photography is my passion and it is taking over my life, I never leave home with out my camera in my bag through the fear of missing one shot or another, because you never know what you’re going to see..

Equipment

All photography is carried out using Professional Canon Digital SLR cameras and lenses. I have back-ups for all camera bodies and lenses and shoot as RAW files (14 bit output). This allows the maximum amount of digital information to be preserved from the shot. Whereas using JPEGs processed in-camera will provide instant delivery, there is a slight compromise on the range of tones and colours that can be obtained from the compressed 8 bit JPEG file.

Post processing is carried out on a fully colour calibrated and managed system using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS3.

Various third party plug-ins are used to correct any image distortions, to improve digital sensor noise that is inherent at higher ISO settings and to achieve outstanding visual results.
